Dietitian’s Olly Goodbye Stress Review: Is It Worth It for Busy Moms?

Stress is practically baked into the life of a busy mom. Between work deadlines, after-school activities, and trying to throw together something kind of nutritious for dinner, it would be surprising if you didn’t feel constantly drained and on your last nerve.

If you’ve ever found yourself Googling “quick stress relief for moms” while reheating your coffee for the third time or taking a much-needed “time-out” on your closet floor, you’re not alone.

I’ve tried a number of things to help calm the chaos, including supplements. You can read my review of Ritual Stress Relief to see what I thought of the popular stress-busting subscription supplement. Olly Goodbye Stress was next on my list as an instant stress-relieving option to try.

As a dietitian and a mom, I always approach supplements with a mix of curiosity and skepticism. Do they actually work, or are they just another wellness trend? I wanted to see if these gummies lived up to their promises, so I tested them out myself—looking at both how I felt and the science behind the ingredients.

In this review, I’ll break down what’s inside Olly Goodbye Stress, how it worked for me, and whether I think it’s worth it for busy, burnt-out moms like you.

Olly Goodbye Stress Dietitian’s review

Why I tried Olly Goodbye Stress gummies

If you’re anything like me, stress isn’t just an occasional visitor—it’s practically a live-in roommate. Between work, kids, and the never-ending mental to-do list, my brain often feels like a browser with 32 tabs open.

I know the importance of managing stress through balanced meals, movement, and mindfulness, but let’s be real—some days, you just don’t have the time or energy.  On other days, it seems like I do everything “right” only to have my plans trampled over, and the anxiety and stress start to creep back in.

I don’t jump on every wellness trend, but I do love to dig into the science behind products like these, especially when it’s by a brand that I generally like. Olly claims their Goodbye Stress gummies can help you stay calm and alert with a blend of GABA, L-theanine, and lemon balm.

I decided to give them a shot—not just for myself, but to see if they could be a practical, low-effort option for other busy moms who need stress relief but don’t have time for an hour-long yoga session, a daily meditation practice, or even an hour of quiet alone time.

How does Olly Goodbye Stress work?

Olly Goodbye Stress gummies are designed to help you feel calmer and relaxed without feeling groggy or “out of it.” Unlike prescription anxiety medications or sleep aids, this supplement relies on herbs and amino acids to induce a feeling of zen when you need it.

With only three active ingredients, GABA, L-theanine, and lemon balm, it claims to induce a relaxed state of mind in as little as 30 to 60 minutes.

The supplement recommends taking two gummies per day as needed.

Breaking down the science: Do the ingredients really work?

There is no shortage of claims in the supplement industry, and I’m first to say that most of them are absolute baloney. Olly Goodbye Stress keeps it simple with a short list of active ingredients that actually do have some research backing them. Here’s the breakdown:

  • GABA (100 milligrams): GABA, or gamma-aminobutyric acid, is a neurotransmitter that helps calm your nervous system and lower stress. Some research suggests that supplementing with GABA may promote sleep and relaxation.

While some studies show benefits starting at doses of 25 to 30 milligrams, others have found that tiny amounts (as little as 2 milligrams added to tea) helped reduce perceived and physiological signs of stress in college students. The 100 mg in Goodbye Stress is within the range that many studies use, which is a good sign.

  • L-theanine (50 milligrams): L-theanine is an amino acid naturally found in tea leaves and mushrooms and is known for its ability to promote relaxation without drowsiness. Many human studies show that L-theanine reduces heart rate, decreases perceived anxiety, and improves reaction times and executive functioning.

But there’s a catch. Most research suggests you need at least 200 mg for noticeable effects—four times what’s in these gummies. That doesn’t mean it’s useless, but if you’re looking for a stronger effect, you might need to pair it with an extra supplement or a few cups of tea.

  • Lemon balm extract (75 milligrams): Lemon balm is a calming herb that I personally love—it’s one of my go-to’s when I need to unwind at night. It works partly by boosting GABA activity in the brain, helping you feel more relaxed.

While it’s been studied for stress relief, most clinical trials use doses between 300 and 1,600 mg per day—much higher than the 75 mg in Goodbye Stress. So, while it may help a little, it’s probably not a game-changer at this dose.

So, what does all this mean? The ingredients in Goodbye Stress do have research-backed benefits, but the doses of two of the ingredients aren’t quite at therapeutic levels. That doesn’t mean it won’t work—but it might not be as powerful as you’d hope.

Benefits of Olly Goodbye Stress

Are Olly Goodbye Stress gummies safe?

While we all want our supplements to work, one of my main concerns is always safety. Supplements really are like the Wild Wild West. It’s basically anything goes, and until something is proven to be misleading or harmful, it’s fair game to sell on the market.

This means we need to be extra cautious consumers, looking to third-party testing and certifications for an extra layer of certainty that a supplement includes exactly what it says (and nothing extra).

Olly Goodbye Stress gummies are NSF-certified, meaning that the contents have been tested and certified by a reputable third-party testing company, ensuring that the product matches the label.

Overall, the active ingredients GABA, lemon balm, and L-theanine in the doses included are generally safe for most healthy adults.

If you have any medical conditions or take medications, you will want to check with your doctor and pharmacist before taking them, though, as even natural or herbal ingredients can have dangerous interactions with medications.

My Experience: Did they really help?

So, did these gummies actually make a difference? Kind of. I wouldn’t call them a miracle fix for stress or anxiety, but they do offer a slight benefit—especially in moments when I’m feeling overstimulated or irritable.

If I take them when I notice myself getting tense, like at the end of a long, chaotic day or when my patience is running thin, they help me feel a little more in control of my emotions. It’s not a dramatic shift, but it’s enough to take the edge off.

That said, on days when my ADHD symptoms feel unregulated, or my stress is particularly high, these gummies aren’t getting me where I want to be. I see them more as a small, helpful tool rather than a go-to solution for big stress. They work best when I catch stress early—before it fully takes over.

A big bonus is that they’re budget-friendly, especially compared to many other stress-busting supplements on the market. You can get a 30-day supply for $17.99 ($0.60 per serving) or use their subscribe and save option, saving 15% on each order.

Chew gummies slowly. Swallow. Deep breaths. Ok, now who touched who, and why have we lost the replacement of the replacement of the remote again?

Who could benefit from Olly Goodbye Stress (and who won’t)?

Olly Goodbye Stress might be a good fit if you’re looking for a little extra support to take the edge off during stressful moments. If you’re a busy, burnt-out mom who feels overstimulated by noise, messes, or the constant demands of the day, these gummies could help you feel a bit more grounded.

I’ve found they work best for mild to moderate stress—like when you’re feeling irritable after a long day or overwhelmed by too many things happening at once. They’re easy to take, taste good, and don’t make you drowsy, which is a plus when you still have things to do.

That said, these aren’t a magic bullet for stress or anxiety. If you deal with chronic stress, high-functioning anxiety, or ADHD-related overwhelm, the low doses of active ingredients probably won’t be enough to make a noticeable difference.

If you’re looking for stronger stress support, you might be better off with a higher-dose supplement or other stress-management tools like mindfulness, movement, or talking with a healthcare provider about additional options.

Is this supplement worth it? My final verdict

If you want a gentle, easy-to-use stress reliever to help in the moment—without making you sleepy or foggy—Olly Goodbye Stress could be worth trying. It’s a third-party tested and certified supplement with research-backed active ingredients. They just may not be strong enough to combat all of your stress.

Overall, it’s a nice “extra” but not a game-changer and not a replacement for things like therapy, prescribed medications, or sunlight and outdoor time (yes, my doctor actually prescribed the last two).
